CANARGITA is a fictionalized biographical novel about my father and a work in progress. The research and development of CANARGITA will be worked out through a series of ongoing performances, objects, interventions, and exhibitions. Its first manifestation occurred at Galerie Jan Winkelmann (Berlin) in November 2007, taking the form of a prototype design for the book and its casing. The novel itself, when finally completed, will come with its own context for reading it- a hammock made from debris netting used on high rise buildings under construction- and will be encased in bright orange barrier netting, used to keep the general public out of places, such as protests, or construction sites.
