This piece uses a gallery-like model to consider both the spatial necessities of cinematic and written fiction and the social implication of the gallery as a site for actualizing ideas and idealism. The idealized spaces found in the forms of the novel, cinema, and the architectural model are brought together in Tout Va Fataliste?. A sequence from Godard's Tout Vas Bien, Diderot's Jaques Le Fataliste, and a mirror (reflecting both the viewer and the surrounding gallery space) were housed in a white plastic sign material, Sintra, to form a physical model of a generic gallery. The audio from the Tout Vas Bien sequence was pumped outside the Galerie Werner Whitman to the Montreal streets outside.
